the Future of Sport

Vision

Sport is facing a global revolution. Around the world, the speed of digitization is matched only by the pace of societal change. Today, sport requires a new mindset, one that transcends profits and addresses the expectations of the new generation.

We are convinced that sport, in this context of transformation, can play a bigger role in addressing the major social challenges of our age. It’s time for action, to reconnect sport with its true purpose and redefine its role in society into a force for good and a force for innovation.

At the intersection between the worlds of business, culture, media, politics and civil society, GSW curates, informs, connects and empowers a community made of all the actors who shape the future of sport.

To do so, GSW offers a privileged platform and setting, which looks to federate the wider sports ecosystem beyond the traditional issues of the sports industry.

The GSWParis agenda is built around 6 major “Shifts”,

identified as the key economic and societal transformations impacting the global ecosystem of sport. They offer a comprehensive structure: to promote purposeful discourse, create synergies and innovative partnerships, and above all, find and develop impactful, multilateral solutions for the future of sport.

A UNIQUE
OPPORTUNITY

The organization of major sporting events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Rugby World Cup, offer unique visibility to the host city and country, new opportunities for all local actors across the public and private sectors, and a significant boost to the sports industry as a whole.

The whole world, and in particular the entire sports ecosystem, will be looking towards France in the coming years. This represents a unique opportunity and incentive to congregate – to build together a more innovative and sustainable future for sport.

A shared
STORY

Founded by three international sports marketing experts, Global Sports Week is an entrepreneurial project, launched by Lucien Boyer, Laurent Damiani and Arnaud Drijard.

Since the first edition of the event, GSWParis has been organized under the High Patronage of Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, as well as the Patronage of UNESCO.
In 2020, the inaugural international forum took place at the Carrousel du Louvre, and brought together more than 2,000 people over the span of 3 days. GSWParis has since established itself as the annual rendez-vous and privileged meeting place for organizations across the global ecosystem of sport, committed to accelerating its transformation.

In 2021, wishing to strengthen its international dimension, but conscious of the environmental and health issues linked to the organization of a global event, GSW adapted to the situation by creating an innovative, hybrid-format event. It thus became the first multi-country forum for Sport in the world: both physical and digital – with a presence in continental hubs in all 6 future Olympic host cities – Paris (central studio at the top of the Eiffel Tower), Tokyo, Beijing, Milan, Dakar and Los Angeles.
More than 20,000 visitors connected to the digital platform created for the forum, which was structured around a main theme: “Reinvention in action!”.

Following the 2021 event in February, GSW wished to take things one step further, by offering a dedicated platform to its community, accessible year-round. Through this new digital platform, the GSWClub, the global ecosystem of sport can now continue to discuss, collaborate, and communicate on their engagements, beyond GSWParis annual forums.
